AIDS:

Meetings were conducted to explain how HIV virus are transmitted by having sex with persons who are HIV positive blood transmission, use of non sterlised Syringes and from mother to child. Those with HIV positive become AIDS patients, public are advised to avoid sex outside, marriage, use stablised Syranges check blood before transmission to avoid Aids and use condoms.

LITERACY AND NON FORMAL EDUCATION:

The Literacy rate is low. s> It is necessary to improve literacy and to give education to school drop out children. It is explained to parents to send their children to schools or non-formal educational centres. We have conducted door to door survey in entire Thavanampalle Mandal and identified number of children in the age group of 11 to 14 years who were either never enrolled or droped out from school. The Government sanctioned EGS/AID Scheme to our organisation to implement in Thavanampalle Mandal. We have conducted Gam Sabhas, rallies, Public meetings, identification of educational volunteers and centres for implementation of the scheme.

ATROCITIES AGAINST SCHEDULED CASTE AND SCHEDULED TRIBES:

Our organisation has conducted meetings in dalit wadas and dalits were educated about their rights and privileges provided under the constitution. They are advised to oppose any atrocities against them and availed the provisions under Civil rights act, Mainthry sangams were formulated in the villages to take help from police department.

ATROCITIES AGAINST WOMEN:

Of late women are being harassed physically and mentally at all levels. Meetings were held explaining their constitutional rights and to fight against any atrocities against women and to give moral support to such victims. They were advised to take recourses to law to bring the culprits to justice. Maithry sangams were formed in the villages to take police assistance wherever necessary.

CONSUMER PROTECTION:

The general public are being cheated by merchants and manufacturers in many ways like sub standard goods, under weighment, adulteration etc., Public meetings were conducted and public were explained to take bills and guarantee guard for the purchases and if they were cheated to approach consumer forum for redressal of their grievances.

CHILD HELATH, MOTHER'S MILK, NUTRITION:

Awareness camps were conducted to enlighten the women to take care of their childrens health, give polio drops in time, give balanced diet for proper growth.

Importance of mother's milk was also emphasised. Nutrition values of food were explained. Pregnant women were advised to have regular medical check up, take medical care, iron and vitamin tablets and nutritious food for safe motherhood.

Indian SYSTEM OF MEDICINES AND HOMEOPATHY:

The Indian system of medicines is an ancient one consisting of Ayurvedic, Siddha, Homeopathy, Yoga etc., Several Chronic diseases can be cured by Indian System of Medicines without any side effects to the Human health. We have trained several youth in rural areas in Indian System of medicines and conducted awareness programmes to cure chronic diseases with low medical expenditure.

AWARENESS GENERATION FOR RURAL POOR WOMEN :

Most of the rural women are illiterates and they are ignorant. Due to poverty and ignorance they are being exploited at all levels and subjected to atrocities. Though they are working equally with men from sun rise to sun set. They are paid low wages and thus discriminated their required awareness about their right. We have conducted awareness camps to educate nutrition, literacy, health and hygiene, family planning for improvement in Socio-Economic conditions.

CANCER AND NON CONTEGIOUS DISEASES:

There are number of people men, women, children and oldage people suffering from various diseases such as cancer, T.B., Leprocy, HIV etc., The people are not able to meet the cost of medical expenditure due to poverty and ignorance. Due to our awareness camps we could prevented its prevalence in the area to the large extent.

ROAD SAFETY:

During the Aryan civilization people use to settle on the Banks of rivers for their lively hood and existence. Now the position has been changed and the people are willing to settle on road side places for many reasons. Transport facilities are becoming more and more and road accidents are increased causing loss to the property and life. For such calamities both the road users and drivers are mainly responsible. If these people are made aware of traffic rules, problems can be solved to more extent. We have conducted awareness camps on road safety and reduced the road accident to maximum possible.

EDUCATION GUARANTEE SCHEME AND A.I.E. SCHEME :

Due to poverty and ignorance and lack of facilities and other various reasons the children in age group of 6 to 14 years are dropping out from schools and also not at all enrolled to the schools and are becoming child labour. We have conducted awareness camps, gram sabhas, rallies in the

rural habitation and appraised the parents to send their children to the EGS AND A.I.E. GENTRES. We are implementing the scheme in Thavanampalle Mandal of Chittoor District for the benefit of children in the age group of 11 to 14 years who were school drop cuts and never enrolled in the schools to educate them and main streaming in the formal education.

We have also conducted awareness camps on Leprosy, prevention of disabilities, Literacy, formation self help groups, prevention of blindness, brain fever, maintenance of horticulture and kitchen gardens, Multidrug therofy of medicines, drinking water, legal education, social forestry, road safety, wild life conservation, environment production, clean and green, use of non conventional energy, prevention of child labour, oral dehydration solution, livestock, Multi therapy medicines, cancer and non contiguous diseases, Tribal culture, Indian system of medicines and Homeopathy.

We have celebrated World Health day, World environment day, World Literacy day, Human rights day, International Womens days, world consumer's rights day, World disabled welfare day, World Aids day, World non tobacco Day, World mothers day, World asthma day, World blood donation day, World Population day etc.,

Our association has given training to poor women -in sheep rearing, poultry forming under STEP, Leather craft making, Tailoring, Horticulture, Rastriya Mahila Kosh, Dwakra Programmes, Basket making, Indian System of Medicines and Homeopathy, Tie and black printing, vermi compost, Sheep rearing, Leaf making, Carpentory, Agarpathi making, use of smokeless cholas and bio-gas, Mushroom cultivation, beautification courses, Horticulture etc.,

Our organisation has got good management, field staff, technical experts as advisers, infrastructural facilities, financial soundness, capability good report, good track record. The organisation can implement all developmental activities, successfully to the best satisfaction of public concerned and funding agency.
